Goals and Tasks
- Establish a constitutionally legitimate, democratically elected government in Oromia.
- Impose respect for, and strict adherence to the rule of law at all levels of government structure, including international conventions and treaties.
- Support and the necessary support to improve the justice system and ensure the impartiality of judges and courts of law.
- Prohibit discrimination against any person or group based on sex, race, nation, nationality, ethnicity, political opinion, religion or belief, age, disability, sexual orientation, and gender identity.
- Set a legal framework and implement accordingly a relationship between the government of Ethiopia and that of Oromia, including economic and political frameworks, bound clearly by mutual agreement.
- Constitute police, national army, security, and intelligence offices that operate independently from political institutions to allow all sides to operate independently and in a nonpartisan manner.

About Oromia Regional National Transitional Government

Oromia Regional National Transitional Government (#ORNTG) is a temporary government that governs Oromia until an official election takes place. It is an emergency governmental authority set up to manage a political transition. It will prepare constitutional charter documents and facilitate an election process.

Since October 5th, 2020, the constitutional term of the Ethiopian Government has expired. Currently, there is no legitimate government in Oromia. The ORNTG is necessary to establish a government that can provide peace and security in Oromia.
